The Uttar Pradesh government has made provision online for new universities to secure university affiliation and for existing universities to obtain no-objection certificates to start new courses.
The online provision was implemented to provide more transparency, Chief Deputy Minister Dinesh Sharma, who also has the portfolio of the Higher Education Department, said on Wednesday.
“For existing universities to take NOC to start new courses and for new universities to secure university affiliation, the process has been done online,” Sharma said in a statement.
“Memberships will only be given online starting in the 2021-22 academic session,” he added.
Sharma said the NOC and related proposals have so far been removed through offline processes. Sharma said that the process of obtaining the NOC for the establishment of an educational institution for minorities has also been simplified and has been done online.
“Now the application can be made online to the university in question along with all the necessary documents and the university in question will issue the NOC after that,” he said.
Dept. of Higher Education Additional Chief Secretary Monica Garg said a timetable has been set for the online removal of membership and NOC proposals.
