Teachers and students of e-classroom to get Diwali vacation: Maha minister – education
Teachers and students in Maharashtra who are part of online education will have Diwali holidays, state Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said on Wednesday.
“A final decision to this effect will soon be made,” Gaikwad told reporters, adding that authorities have been instructed not to conduct any examinations during the Diwali holiday period.
Schools switched to online mode in March this year due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
Gaikwad said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is taking views of the state attorney general and other concerned authorities regarding the reopening of the 11 standard classes.
“The delay in (the physical reopening of class 11 lectures) is due to judicial process, but the standard online classes are getting a good response,” he added.
Gaikwad said the education department is focusing on the general development of students using modern technology.
“We will ensure that they become more interested in education and improve their knowledge,” he added.
