Schools to celebrate November 8 to 14 as Children’s week: Maharashtra education dept – education
Before Children’s Day on November 14, the Maharashtra state education department asked schools in the state to celebrate Children’s Week between November 8 and 14.
As part of the initiative, schools are required to conduct activities and upload photos of the celebrations held online. During the week, schools will organize various competitions such as essay writing, elocution and video making for students. The education department has also announced awards in each category for students between classes 1 and 12.
“Teachers can upload pictures of students using the hashtag # baldivas2020. You can share these photos through social networks, ”says the circular issued by the education department on Thursday. A district and Taluka level committee will be formed to judge student entries as part of the competition.
Several teachers said that when they were struggling to complete their syllabus and tests, doing activities for a whole week would be cumbersome. “The department should have left the activities to the schools, as sticking to a rigorous schedule will be difficult at this point. Also, since some students do not have access to the Internet, communicating these events to them is somewhat difficult, ”said the teacher of a suburban school.
Education department officials said the idea is to encourage students to engage in activities when schools are online. “It would give them the opportunity to interact with teachers and peers, which will be a nice change of classes,” said an official.
