Schools in Odisha’s remote areas set up indigenous knowledge corners – education
Schools in some remote areas of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts are establishing “indigenous knowledge corners” where students will be taught using teaching-learning material made from resources collected from people.
“The Indigenous Knowledge Corners in Schools is an attempt to provide a culture-based learning ecosystem for students, helping them improve their learning competence. We are preserving indigenous knowledge and resources in schools, ”said DP Nilay, tribal education coordinator for Keonjhar district.
Schools in the state are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
