Sainik School in Nalanda allows admission to girls – education

This is the great opportunity for the girls of the state who aspire to prove themselves in the defense services. Now they have the ease of military training that will open the floodgate of opportunity whether in the military or the air force or in the naval services.

The Nalanda Sainik School, the only one of its kind in the state, has been authorized by the Ministry of Defense for girls to enter the institution and take part in the military training provided by the Sainik School.

Colonel Tamojeet Biswas, director of the Sainik school, Nalanda, said the Ministry of Defense has allowed girls to enroll in the school. “The state government wanted this type of facility here and had taken the initiative in this direction. The Defense Ministry was asked to also allow girls to enter military training, ”he said.

Biswas said that preparations have begun for the enrollment of girls in the institution and that starting in April 2021, military training will also be given to girl cadets, he added. “After this training, they can join the navy, army or air force and can make their families and the entire state proud of their accomplishments,” he said.

Col said the Sainik School has basically been a part of the Defense Ministry. “It was first established in the country in 1963 after the Indochina war. In fact, it was decided to give civilians the military training facility and it was installed in every state, ”he said.

Biswas said Nalanda Sainik School is one such institution. It is a residential school with the facility of education from standard VI to XII. There are currently more than 550 children in the institution attending regular education and military training. “From the new session there will also be the cadet girls,” he said.
