The Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Services Commission (UPHESC) has begun preparations to hire 2016 assistant professors for existing vacant positions at 241 unassisted undergraduate universities across the state.
The commission has already received applications regarding vacant university positions and is now busy selecting the private agency it would partner with to conduct the recruiting exam, officials said.
Once the agency is finalized, the formal announcement of the hiring process is expected to be issued by the last week of December or the first half of January 2021, they added. The 2016 positions would include 803 general category positions, 571 reserved for OBC candidates, 441 for SC candidates, 17 ST and 184 for EWS category candidates, they explained.
The recruitment for the 2016 positions of assistant professors in the undergraduate faculties without assistance would be carried out for a total of 44 subjects. These include Economics, History, English, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Commerce, Law, Education, Physics, Home Science, Hindi, Sanskrit, Zoology, Geography, Psychology, Singing Music, Military Science, Horticulture, Livestock and Dairy, Earth . Conservation, Botany, Crop Science, Sociology, BEd, Agricultural Engineering, Biochemistry, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Botany, Plant Pathology, Physical Education, Entomology, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Genetics and Plant Breeding, Ancient History, Urdu, Statistics, Music (Sitar) , Music (Table), Agricultural Statistics, Painting, Geology and Asian Culture.
UPHESC Secretary Vandana Tripathi said that before the announcement for the recruitment process is published, the recruitment examination program will be reviewed, as the last review of the program was conducted in 2014. There is also another issue that must be resolved first. When the Higher Education Directorate sent the UPHESC the application for the 2016 assistant professor positions, it mentioned that the horizontal reserve is set by the commission of its level. “According to the established rules, the horizontal reserve can be decided at the management level. We have written a letter in this regard to the management and subsequently two reminders have also been sent. As soon as the response comes, we plan to publish the announcement, ”said the commission secretary.
