R Madhavan receives honour for contribution to arts, cinema

Actor R Madhavan was conferred the diploma of Physician of Letters (D. Litt.) by DY Patil Training Society, Kolhapur on Wednesday for his excellent contribution to arts and cinema. The 50-year-old actor acquired the honour on the schooling society’s ninth convocation ceremony. “I’m really humbled by this honour. It will solely encourage me to maintain pushing the envelope and difficult myself with newer tasks,” Madhavan mentioned in an announcement.

The actor, who started his profession within the late 90s, bought a breakthrough with filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s Tamil romantic movie “Alaipayuthey” in 2000 and has since appeared in in style movies like “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein”, “three Idiots”, the “Tanu Weds Manu” franchise and 2017 thriller  “Vikram Vedha”.

He made his digital debut in 2018, with Amazon Prime Video’s “Breathe”.


Madhavan is presently awaiting the discharge of his directorial debut, “Rocketry: The Nambi Impact”, wherein he additionally stars. The movie relies on the lifetime of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Area Analysis Organisation who was accused of espionage.
