NCTE approves extension of validity of Teacher Eligibility Test – education
The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has approved the extension of the validity of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) certificate from 7 years to lifetime. The decision was made at the 50th meeting of the NCTE General Body held on September 29, 2020.
According to the minutes of the NCTE General Body Meeting distributed on October 13, the council approved the extension of the validity of the TET certificate from seven years to the useful life and its disposition will have prospective effect. “The Council considered the item on the agenda and approved the validity of the TET certificate, changing it from 7 years to life. This provision would have prospective effect and for those who have already passed out (who are already TET certified), NCTE will take legal opinion and act accordingly, ”read the minutes of NCTE’s 50th GB meeting.
