Mysore university an amalgamation of ancient India’s rich education and future’s aspirations: PM Modi – education
Addressing the centennial convocation of the University of Mysore on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that the institution was a fusion of the rich educational system of ancient India and the aspirations of the future.
“The University of Mysore is the center of the rich educational system of ancient India on the one hand and the aspirations and capabilities of future India on the other. This university has realized the vision and resolutions of “Rajarshi” Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar and M. Visvesvaraya Ji, ”said the Prime Minister, while virtually addressing the centennial convocation of the University of Mysore.
“Education (Shiksha) and initiation (Diksha) are considered here as two important stages of youth. This has been a tradition for thousands of years. When we talk about initiation, it is not just an opportunity to obtain a degree. Today inspires us to make new decisions for the next stage of life, “he added.
In addressing the students on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi also recalled Bharat Ratna, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was attached to the university. “Today, his teachers and professors are also handing him responsibility for the nation and society, along with their titles.”
“Now you are moving from a formal college campus to the big, real-life campus. This will be a campus in which, together with the degree, the applicability of the acquired knowledge will work ”, he added.
The University of Mysore was established in 1916, the first in Karnataka and the sixth in the country.
The Governor of Karnataka marked his virtual presence on the occasion, along with other dignitaries such as union and academic council members, parliamentarians, MLA, MLC, statutory officers and district officers, as well as students and parents.
