A divisional center of the Nashik-based Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) will emerge here in the Marathwada region of the state.
The state government has decided to sanction the divisional center of the health university in Latur, which is emerging as an educational center, a statement from the local office of the Minister of Medical Education Amit Deshmukh said on Friday.
Deshmukh is also the guardian minister of the Latur district.
The divisional offices of at least 25 to 30 government departments, including health, transportation, cooperatives, charity and water resources, are located in the central city of Maharashtra.
After the Nashik-based MUHS became operational, its divisional centers were established in five locations: Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Nagpur, and Kolhapur.
Now, the Aurangabad divisional center will fork to establish MUHS facilities in Latur, the statement said.
