Maharashtra Energy minister approves mega recruitment drive for 8500 vacancies – education

Maharashtra Minister of Energy Dr Nitin Raut asked the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (Mahatransco) to launch a mega recruitment drive for around 8,500 vacant positions over several years during a review meeting of staff held at the Secretariat on Friday.

According to the official statement from the government of Maharashtra, the meeting was held to discuss the Mahatransco manpower position, in which the president and managing director Dinesh Waghmare reported on the vacant position.

According to the Maharashtra government, Waghmare informed the minister that many technical and engineering positions remained vacant since the dissociation of the former Maharashtra State Electricity Board into four companies, including Mahatransco, and the existing vacancies created a burden on the workforce. creating industrial tension and the unions were aggressively demanding for hiring.

“During the meeting, Raut said that young people in the state were languishing due to unemployment and that the new job opportunities would bring hope into their lives, and it would be a gift from the MVA government (Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi) on the occasion of Dhammachakra Pravartan Day. ”The statement said.

It should be noted that there are around 6,750 vacant positions for technical cadres (ITI graduates) and about 1,762 vacant positions for engineers (Diploma and Bachelor’s) for which Mahatransco is going to carry out the hiring process.

The statement added that during the meeting, the Bakshi Committee’s report on manpower was discussed.

“The category of technician and operator would be merged into one category because they both have a common ITI rating. I would open a promotional channel for them. During the meeting, Raut recommended providing training to the existing workforce for the development of multitasking skills, ”he stated.

The government further said that in recent years the Mahatransco employee promotion prospects were blocked due to a large number of vacancies at various levels, and once the hiring process is complete, the promotion channels will be available to employees. , which will generate enthusiasm among them.
