Karnataka Higher Education Minister visits land site of Rani Channamma University – education
The Karnataka Government has decided to build the new Rani Channamma University campus in Hirebagewadi itself, said Senior Deputy Minister Dr CN Ashwatha Narayan, who is also Minister of Higher Education.
He also informed that an amount of Rs 100 crore would be provided for this purpose in the first phase.
Deputy CM was speaking with reporters after inspecting the sanctioned land for construction of the university campus on Saturday.
“It was a long-standing demand to build one’s own campus for the advancement of the university. The land is sanctioned in consideration of this claim. It is difficult to get land close to the city. It shouldn’t become a matter of ego to decide the venue, ”he said.
“The drinking water project of several villages will not be canceled due to this decision. There is also scope to make alternative arrangements to carry out this project ”, he emphasized.
The land in Hirebagewadi is sanctioned due to the efforts of many people’s representatives, including the minister in charge of the district, Ramesh Jarakihole. All necessary facilities will be installed on the proposed campus. At the same time, the required development work will also be taken over at Kittur, he reported.
Sanjaya Patil, president of the BJP rural district unit, reported that the villagers agreed to give up the level land on the top of the hill for the purpose of building the university campus.
