The second year pre-university exams (class 12) would start in the second week of May and the Certificate of High School Completion (SSLC-class 10) in the first week of June, said the Karnataka Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, S Suresh Kumar, on Wednesday.
The Education Department has finalized the curriculum of the classes for teaching and learning purposes in view of the examinations and its details have been sent to all schools and colleges, the minister said, as quoted in an official press release .
Both Class 10 and the sophomore PUC are state board exams.
The minister further said that there was no proposal to the government to shorten the study program from classes one to nine, as an alternative academic schedule has been finalized.
The assessment will be conducted at the school level for these classes and will be based on the learning ability of the students.
After more than nine months, the state’s schools and colleges reopened for PUC 10th and sophomore year students on January 1 in strict compliance with COVID-19 safety regulations.
Students in grades 6-9 also come to campuses for the Vidyagama program, which allows for continuous schooling.
