The Himachal Pradesh government decided on Monday to keep all schools and universities closed until December 31 and imposed an overnight curfew in four districts to combat the recent outbreak of coronavirus cases.
The curfew will run from Tuesday to December 15 in Shimla, Mandi, Kangra and Kullu districts from 8 pm to 6 am, said the state’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Bhardwaj.
The decision to put the brakes on the new curbs was made at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
All educational institutions had been closed until November 25. Now they will remain closed until December 31.
