Eknath Khadse joins NCP

Eknath Khadse, who recently resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the presence of party chief Sharad Pawar in Mumbai on Friday. Khadse had sent his resignation to the Maharashtra president of the BJP, Chandrakant Patil, where he stated, “I am resigning from the main BJP membership for personal reasons.”

His resignation came hours after CPN leader and Maharashtra minister Jayant Patil claimed that Khadse had left the party and will join the National Congress Party on Friday. “He (Khadse) will join the NCP at 2pm on Friday. This will strengthen the NCP,” Patil told reporters in Mumbai.

This is a developing story.
