Delhi University (DU) will publish on Wednesday the list of grades awarded based on certificates submitted for undergraduate admissions under the sports quota. Grades will be reported on the student intake portal, after which they will be given three days to report any complaints.
This year, the university skipped admissions tests under sports and extracurricular activities (ECA) quotas in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and students will be enrolled only on the basis of certificates of merit and participation.
At DU colleges, 5% of supernumerary seats are reserved under these two categories collectively in each course.
In a notice issued Thursday, the university’s sports council said: “A three-day claim period, from December 3 to December 5, will be given to applicants to register their claims (if any).”
Formal complaints can be sent to the university by email and applicants are advised not to visit the campus. “The centralized list of sports merits for each sport / game along with the ranking of applicants for admission of sports quotas to UG 2020 courses will be displayed on the DU UG portal after the repair of applicants’ complaints,” added the notification.
Explaining the reason behind the delay in announcing the results of the admission of sports quotas even when the academic session for freshmen began on November 18, the president of the sports council Pankaj Sinha said: “We have received more than 50,000 sports certificates, on the basis of which marks have been assigned. Due to the prevailing pandemic situation, we were unable to gather all of our teachers. They worked in batches. “
Sinha said that students will be able to be admitted immediately after the complaint is redressed. “There will not be multiple shortlists of selected candidates this year. We will publish the grades of all students and according to their ranks and grades, eligible courses and universities will be assigned to them on their admission portal, ”he said.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the university released the list of grades assigned to candidates based on their ECA certificates.
You have invited students to register their complaints, if any, before registration begins. “The centralized ECA merit list for each category along with a ranking of candidates for admission to UG courses will be displayed on the DU UG admission portal after applicants’ complaints are repaired,” it reads in another notification issued by the University.
