DU releases 3rd cut-off list, UG admissions closed in many courses, marginal dip in some colleges – education
The University of Delhi announced the third list of cuts on Saturday with several universities closing admission to multiple courses, while there was a marginal drop in cuts for certain programs.
More than 82 percent of the vacancies at the University of Delhi were filled after the completion of admissions on the second cut-off list, authorities said.
“While 35,500 seats were filled under the first cut list, 22,147 seats were filled under the second cut list. There are a total of 70,000 places in undergraduate courses at the university, ”said a senior official.
The University of Delhi published its second cut list last Saturday.
Lady Shri Ram College for Women had set a score of 100% in three courses: BA (Honors) in Psychology, BA (Honors) in Political Science, and BA (Honors) in Economics.
Seats were available in all three courses and applicants required 99 percent Honors in Economics and 99.75 percent Honors in Psychology and Bachelor’s in Political Science.
Similarly, BA (honors) Journalism, which was available capped at 99.50 percent on LSR, was available at 99.25 percent on the second list.
The first cut list was released on October 10. Almost 50 percent of the seats were filled on the first list.
Admissions under the third list will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday and end on October 30.
This year, the entire admissions process is done online in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
