CoSAAP requests Arunachal government to exempt teachers of Class 10 and 12 from poll duty – education
The Confederation of Arunachal Pradesh Services Association (CoSAAP) has requested the state government to exempt teachers dedicated to teaching students in classes 10 and 12 from municipal and panchayat electoral duties.
The panchayat and municipal ballot boxes are scheduled to take place simultaneously in a single phase on December 22.
In a letter addressed to the secretary general of state on Saturday, the confederation asked him to exempt from electoral duties teachers who are dedicated to teaching students in class 10 and 12, respectively.
“Classes that were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic have just started on November 16 and if teachers, teaching students from classes 10 and 12 participate in the simultaneous elections, classes will be severely hampered,” said the Confederacy.
“It will also result in poor performance on the CBSE exams next year,” CoSAAP added in the letter.
The counting officers would issue a public notice for the panchayat and municipal votes on November 24, while the last date to submit nomination papers is December 2.
The scrutiny of the works would take place on December 4 and the last date of withdrawal of nominations is December 7. The vote counting will take place on December 26 and the entire election process will be completed on December 31.
