Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi has referred the territorial government’s proposal to provide a horizontal reserve of 10 percent for public school students on admission to medical courses to the Union Ministry of the Interior for decision.

A statement from the Lieutenant Governor’s office highlighting the various issues that it had clarified during the last week, said that it had submitted to the Ministry of the Interior the proposal of a ten percent horizontal reserve quota for public school students in MBBS, BDS courses. and For doctors. .

It is a matter of policy and that is why the decision of the Ministry of the Interior on the issue has been requested to provide the reserve, he said.

The government had sent him the proposal on November 4.

She forwarded the file on November 6 to the Ministry of the Interior claiming that it is a matter of policy.

The lieutenant governor has also sent the government’s proposal to print government newspapers and New Year’s (2021) wall calendars for approval on Friday to the Interior Ministry.

The Lieutenant Governor has stated that since there is an order prohibiting the Center as part of the austerity measures, the proposal was sent to the Ministry of the Interior.

The government intends to print the newspapers and calendars at a cost of Rs 1.14 million.
