Ambedkar University students protest against high fees, new reservation policy – education
A group of students from Ambedkar University held a protest in front of the home of Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday against the high fees and the new reservation policy, after which 13 of them were arrested.
According to police officials, 13 students were arrested and transferred to the Civil Lines police station. They were later released.
“The administration, in its attempts to resolve the high fee crisis, eliminated the late fee, extended the payment window, and offered a mechanism for payment in installments on a case-by-case basis for certain students. However, these solutions do not address the central concern of our lawsuits, which are the exorbitant fees charged to their students even during a pandemic, ”the student group said in a memorandum submitted to the Chief Deputy Minister’s office.
“We would like to specifically draw your attention to the unconstitutional changes that have been made to the reservation policy at our university,” the students alleged.
