ADB appoints Woochong Um as Managing Director General

Um, who joined ADB in 1993, will assume workplace instantly and report back to its President Masatsugu Asakawa.

The Asian Growth Financial institution (ADB) has appointed Woochong Um as its Managing Director Common.

He’ll assume workplace instantly and report back to ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa.

Um will assist Asakawa to institute bank-wide coherence on key initiatives and points. He’ll play a key position in enhancing ADB’s inner and exterior communications throughout all actions that contain operations, information, fund-raising and institutional reforms.

Um joined ADB in 1993. Since June 2018, he served as Director Common and concurrently Chief Compliance Officer of ADB’s sustainable improvement and local weather change division.

“I look ahead to utilizing the information and expertise I’ve gained up to now 27 years at ADB to contribute to our organisational transformation and guarantee we proceed delivering high-quality improvement options to our members throughout the area,” he mentioned in an announcement issued on Monday.

Um from South Korea holds a Grasp of Enterprise Administration diploma from New York College Stern College of Enterprise and a Bachelor of Pc Science diploma from Boston Faculty.He oversaw the administration of belief funds and international funding initiatives and served as ADB’s focus for Covid-19 response.
